Consumo e desejo na cultura do narcisismo

Neste artigo, pretendo mostrar como o conceito de cultura do narcisismo, criado pelo antropólogo americano Christopher Lash nos anos 1970, pode nos ajudar a pensar sobre alguns padrões de consumo em nosso mundo contemporâneo. Trabalho também com o psicanalista Jurandir Freire-Costa, o sociólogo Zygmunt Bauman e teses minhas para tentar compreender como se altera a forma de consumir em decorrência da crise da Modernidade. ABSTRACT In this article, I intent to show how the concept of culture of narcisism, created by American anthropologist Christopher Lash in the 1970’s, can help us think about some patterns of consumption in contemporary world. I also work with ideas put forward by psychoanalyst Jurandir Freire-Costa, sociologist Zygmunt Bauman as well as some of my own ideas, in order to try to understand how the modes of consumption change throughout the crisis of Modernity.
