Hate tactics in platform humor

This paper discusses the ways in which hate expressions are materialized in discourses produced by comedians. As an empirical object, it chooses the case of Caverna do Ogro podcast, inquiring about the role played by hate manifestations from the point of view of the ways of address in this audiovisual product. To answer the research question, the work proposes three analytical operators: the performances by the podcast mediators; its instructions for use; and the thematic and narrative framings of the humorous field present in the podcast. The study demonstrates that offensive and hateful expressions play a thematic, narrative, and stylistic role in Caverna do Ogro, contributing to characterizing the podcast as a mediating instance of sociocultural relations of production and consumption in the field of humor.
